Read the question carefully

Let’s start with some examples:

Don’t let it scare you

Sometimes the questions are structured to look much more complex than they are. Many people, in fact, induced by appearance, will begin to make complex calculations and go into the ball.

The truth is that sometimes it is enough to stop for a moment and understand what is required. Often these are elementary calculations and simple notions.

Marco decides to take a trip. It will depart from Rome to go to a location that is 5 time zones east of Italy.

Considering that it will start at 12.00 on Saturday 30 April and the journey lasts 6 hours, when will it arrive?

It will leave at 12.00 on Saturday 30th April, the journey lasts 6 hours, therefore it will arrive at 6.00 pm at destination. Now just add the time difference (+ 5h) and the result will be 11.00pm on Saturday 30th April (ANSWER: B).

Perform the procedures on a graphic level

Sometimes writing, drawing or pinning graphically will make what we are dealing with almost magically understandable.

It often happens to think or be frightened in front of questions that integrate a geometric or figural component, in this case, paper and pen in hand will help not only to focus well the situation but also to save us from possible calculation errors.

Complications are never a solution

Yes, even for the logical-mathematical questions this rule applies. If during the calculations should come numbers with the comma, 99% of the time it is an error.

The questions are structured in such a way as to be solved quickly and in any case without too many difficult calculations, so if you find us intertwined between large and unmanageable numbers, check the exercise, there could be an error.

The most trivial solution is not always the one to be discarded

This point is closely related to the previous one: sometimes the solution lies behind small and whole numbers.

In fact, as well as observing the graph above, it is enough to make a simple calculation.

The actual advancement per day is 10 cm out of 40, considering however that the last day the advancement is 20, thus succeeding in overcoming the enterprise without re-entering the tank.

Don’t pull at random

Pulling at random is the worst strategy if the penalty score is higher than 1/4 of the score for the correct answer.

For example, if the score given for the correct answer was 1.5 and the score for the penalty was 0.4 then it is absolutely not recommended to shoot at random. You have one in five chances to guess right?

This means that at the level of probability the other 4 times you lose. Reporting the data from before we consider to pull at random 5 questions, one out of 5 is right (+1.5), the other four wrong (-0.4 x 4 = -1.6).

The result is a loss compared to the initial score of 0.1.

Train and study

As in everything, these are the two factors that will make the difference during an entry test. The more exercises you meet, the more experience you have and the more results you will have.
